How to Replace an new audi key G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is situated at the edge of transmission, above the flywheel gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer located on the instrument cluster.

The grey wire is located on the edge of transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends an indication to the G5 Tachometer within the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware when the crankshaft is TDC and the location of the camshaft so it can activate spark and injectors according to the situation.

If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is out of alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of the possibility of a chain stretch or jump in the chain link of the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit tricky because there are two connector pins and they serve different purposes however the best way to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms when it is operating at its maximum. Examine for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll i had an abrupt drop in power as if the engine was running out of gas or the injectors aren't firing at all. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, 3 were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks i put tissue on the top of each of the injector holes and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline pop out, but the 4th stay closed. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get zero Ohm. I think the issue is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car is able to start when the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is plugged in but it still has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is 0.

I'm not sure what to do, i believe that i've completely ruled out all other possibilities. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sender is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a salvage yard or from a parts store. It is easy to test them - just put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing upwards). They should be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines requires to be aware of the position and speed the crankshaft to determine timing of the fuel injector, etc. To accomplish this, it uses a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you are experiencing issues with either one of these, the diagnostic scanner will show the codes that could trigger the engine shutting down.

Some of the signs of a failed G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter in the gearbox the gears are shifting faster than normal, audi q7 key for audi (https://musclejaguar1.werite.net/11-faux-pas-that-are-actually-ok-to-use-with-your-audi-key-replacement) and/or a misfire when you're in gear. If you experience any of these problems, it is likely that your sensor is going bad and requires replacement car key audi. The good news is they are very affordable and easy to find, especially when you're looking at the Bosch unit which is what we have. Alternately, GM's version this part would be a good option.

5. Tachometer

A malfunctioning engine speed sensor could be the cause of a slew of issues in your vehicle. It's an essential component of your audi replacement key fob's transmission, as it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is spinning. This sensor can cause the transmission to fail and other components of the car to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear and transmits a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49, via an uncolored wire. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate fuel and boost, and also timig. It also relays it to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster. You can check for sensor failure by examining the continuity of the sensor to the tachometer. You can also verify continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79]), and between pin T6a/1 as well as pin T26a/12. You should observe approximately 1000 ohms of resistance between those two pins. This part is common across the audi key Fob replacement cost 80-100-200-RS2 model, ranging from the 1985 MC up to the 1997 UrS AN and the 1995 RS2 Du You may also find them in wrecking yards.holding-car-keys-woman-in-formal-clothes-is-indoo-2021-12-27-15-52-03-utc-min-scaled.jpg
